HAINES REIGNS ON LYTHAM LINKS
The first 'major' of the amateur season was won by Matt Haines on Sunday at Royal Lytham and St Annes.
This should come as no surprise, as Haines was the outstanding under 18 last year, winning the McEvoy Trophy and the Carris Trophy. He now establishes himself as an amateur to watch with an exciting future.
Amention should go to 15 year old Oscar Sharpe, who finished 18th. This is an incredible achievement for someone of this age and supports the view held by many that he is the greatest prospect in the world of amateur golf.
