IT'S McGRANE IN THE RAIN!
It is quite difficult to think of an advantage to a golfer of being brought up in a country where it rains 75% of the time but Damien McGrane gave us a pretty good example on Sunday!
While all around were crumbling, Damien must have felt the rain trickling down the back of his waterproofs and thought it was a little piece of home!
The scores were horrendous - I can't remember seeing such terrible returns outside of the crazy-golf played at some US Open venues. Our three pro-bloggers who played the event have comments to make - check them out!
Let's not forget though that McGrane has been knocking on the door for a few months now, with good performances and thoroughly deserves his triumph. His last round was a terrific effort in the conditions and I would expect him to feature highly again this season.
