IMMELMAN A WORTHY CHAMPION
Trevor Immelman's performance on Sunday has elevated him to World class status. Being a major winner will have a wonderful effect on his self-belief and I would expect him to have a very good season from this point on.
Seeing a younger winner is great for golf! Woods domination isn't really that good for the game - people want competition in their sport - and having the likes of Immelman and hopefully some other younger champions of majors this year will ignite great interest world wide in the game.
For Woods, second place is no place. He didn't really ever look like winning this event and he will be doubly determined to perform at the next major. 19 minus 13 is still 6! It isn't a certainty that he will achieve his life time's ambition and serious challenges over the next two or three years may dent the world's greatest sporting psyche.
i do however believe he will do it!
