BORING TV, BORING COURSE, PREDICTABLE OUTCOME!
Don't get me wrong, I like matchplay! The easiest form of competitive golf gets the boys shooting at pins and plenty of birdies to cheer. There are however problems!
Fistly, the early rounds are just televised putts. "Let's go over to Mr. Nobody on 7", surprise surprise - he makes it! Only when you know a guy is putting for a half from 3 feet, do you know he is going to miss.
Secondly, an American resort course is a very dull venue. I thought the place was uninspiring at best, with huge fairways and greens and few problems.
Finally though, the worst point is that the money goes to the order of merits - ridiculous! Getting knocked out in the first round equates to a top ten finish in a decent event, which is hardly fair.
Oh and Tiger won - There's a shock!!
