EVANS AND MARMION FLYING THE FLAG!
After my gloomy report from tour school, i thought i would offer some cheer!
Ben Evans, a plus 5 handicap amateur has secured a place at San Roque. He did it the hard way, needing 3 under on the last day and a playoff to make it, Ben answered the questions positively and can look forward to the emotional roller-coaster of the final stage. I suggested it should be televised previously, as the drama of the last day is truly gripping and an experience few will forget. Good luck to young Englishman, Ben!
About 8000 miles away, Dale Marmion was also flying the flag of St. George. Dale has made the final stage of Asian tour by blitzing the field to win in Malaysia. He started steadily, carding two rounds of 71, then won the tournament by 5 shots by finishing with a 68 and a 67.
Personally, i believe Dale may be enticed by the pleasures of the Far East! I rang him to congratulate him on his performance and all he could say was,
'I could live 'ere!'
Play the same at next stage and there might be more than 'one night in Bangkok' ahead for you!
