FORGET THE WINNER! THE DRAMA WAS DOWN BELOW
The last event before the show piece Volvo Masters is always a dramatic affair. Who stays and who goes is arguably more enthralling than the race for the winner's cheque. This year was no exception!
There were two major success stories, both from Englishman. Sam Little, who was miles adrift a fortnight ago finished second and catapulted himself up the list. Qualifying through San Roque Tour School last year, he will delighted not to be going back in a few weeks! The other was Richard Finch, who managed enough little birdies this week to not only allow me the quip 'like name, like nature' but also keep his card. He has had a good career so far and it would have been a shame to lose him.
The other side of the coin however is Lee Slattery. He had the agony of the long wait and confirmation that he is the man next on the list - just one spot away and 78 more Euros would have done him! I'll be supporting him at Tour School.
Jarmo Sandelin stays on tour too - by the skin of his teeth! This means another year of dodgy fashion and another great party after the Scandinavian Masters!
