INTO THE BREEZE, SWING WITH EASE!
It isn’t quite as simple as that!
Doubtless you throw some grass in the air to try to work out which way the wind is blowing? This certainly gives you the general direction of the wind at ground level but unless you’re going to hit the ball at that height it isn’t the whole picture.
The simple fact is the higher you hit the golf ball the more wind will affect the flight.
We can make this a really complicated subject but there are guidelines, given by scientists that help you with shot making decisions
Wind in your face - ball flies shorter and more to the left.
Wind at your back - ball flies longer and to the left.
Wind from the left - ball flies shorter and more to the right.
Wind from the right - ball flies longer and to the left.
The air temperature has an effect too - the colder the wind the less affect it will have, the hotter the wind the more affect it will have.
