Fitness Fred

Famed for the ability to record 100 press-ups on his index fingers alone, Fred has muscles in places that most of us don't have places! Having left mainstream body-building after claiming Schwarzenegger was 'a little flabby round the gills', Fred has turned his attention to the athletes he ranks just above dart players - golfers!

You may need a hot bath after a Fitness Fred work out!

WHY SHOULD I STRETCH BEFORE AND AFTER GOLF?

Golf is a sport and as such, an athlete should be preparing himself appropriately. What we need to do is convince ourselves that it enhances performance.

Here are two good reasons!

1. Stretching gives better results more quickly; you don’t want to be ‘warming up’ over the first 3 holes! Your swing will be far more fluid from the word go.

The best golfers in the world will have a stretch programme to complete before and after each round.

2. Stretching will reduce the chance of injury.

Why don’t most golfers stretch then?

How do you stretch properly? Most don’t know! I will introduce a stretch programme over the next few weeks for you to try.
